'When 1 x 100 asked if I’d like to collaborate on a run of special edition Join The Future t-shirts, I naturally jumped at the opportunity. I love the work Richie's and the rest of the crew are doing, and especially the limited items they’ve done with bands, brands, DJs, producers and labels. I had one proviso though: that the income generated be donated to St Luke’s, the long-running, Sheffield-based cancer charity that has long run palliative care services in the Steel City. The end-of-life care provided for my late father, Ian, by St Luke’s community nurses was absolutely brilliant, and I’ve been looking for a way to give something back for a while.
Since my dad played an active role in encouraging me to write Join The Future, and the new edition of the book is dedicated to him, I thought this would be a fitting way to raise some cash for St Luke’s while finally offering some natty Join The Future t-shirts for those that have demanded them (and there are quite a few people out there who have asked over the last few years). Richie’s design hits the spot, with the reference to Brutalist architecture – something that has long been a visual theme across various Join The Future - being a brilliant finishing touch. Note that at least £5 from each sale will go directly to St Luke’s. Updates on donations from sales will be provided on a regular basis.' - Matt Annisss
