'Long overdue and very much worth the wait, we’re buzzing to finally welcome Marcel Vogel to our city. We’re kicking off the year properly on 30th January as he makes his Glasgow debut, bringing his unmistakable sound to the Rum Shack Dancehall for the very first time.
For nearly a decade, Marcel has been quietly but confidently carving out a reputation as one of dance music’s most authentic voices. A DJ with a rare pair of ears and the driving force behind the seminal Lumberjacks In Hell label, alongside the visionary Intimate Friends imprint, Marcel’s standing has been built on consistency, integrity, and impeccable taste.
There are no gimmicks here, no shortcuts, no hype-chasing. Just a deep-rooted passion for raw, soulful music made for the dancefloor.
Like many selectors, Marcel’s journey began with a love of hip hop and house, but it was disco and soul that truly pulled him in, influences that still shine through in both his DJ sets and productions today.
Expect a strictly vinyl set, gospel, disco, house, techno and everything in-between.
