1 of 100 x Paul McDonald, a Special Edition! Delighted to be collaborating with Paul, a regular contributor to Faith Fanzine, with one of his intricate hand drawn illustrations, 'Turn off Your Mind....Relax, and Float Downstream'.
'The title of this drawing is 'Turn off Your Mind....Relax, and Float Downstream' which as well as being a great line from my favourite Beatles track is also a mantra both when I'm listening to music and when I'm drawing. Music is so important to my work and is the basis for pretty much everything I create. This drawing was pretty much defines what my definition of heaven would be like (I'd add a few friends and family to make it totally complete but it's almost there!) There's loads of personal references in there including a Robert Crumb book (a huge influence on my work) , bukowski, warhol, boys own fanzine, a Love Will Save The Day sticker, disco balls and of course lots and lots of speakers!!!! I drew this picture during what was a really really strange time for pretty much everyone (lockdown) and living on my own my drawing totally totally kept me sane during those scary times....its a reminder to always find time to kick back, pick up a book, put on a record and relax' - Paul McDonald
