Project 183, 1 of 100 x Vashti Bunyan! Our first ever letterpress Limited Edition art print. For this special piece we had to go to Glasgows finest, Glasgow Press in Govan. They used a hot foil technique onto 350gsm black Colorplan from GF Smith Papers which looks incredible and almost brings Vashti's drawing come to life on the paper. We spent a wonderful afternoon together watching them be printed and Vashti was so generous with her time to sign them while her partner Al hand stamped them.
'How happy I was to be able to watch my wayward dog drawing getting printed - in silver. May was a wild Afghan Hound, and when we took her we were told to keep her tied up at all times or she would run off and chase sheep, cattle, whatever she could find. She did manage to escape so often, this time trailing the long horse’s rein that had been tying her up. I so loved to see that beautiful dog run. This is my memory of May making a bid for freedom, immortalised by Larry and Dan at the Glasgow Press - on a great old clattering printer. That is a memory I will keep always. Thank you Richie.’ - VB
